One of the radios that is marked with silver or chrome tape around the antenna is working the only problem with it is the antenna is broken at the base. I will try to carefully describe the issues with these radio. I haven't seen any of these on the internet because they are rare. Up for bid I have a pair of vintage Realistic trc 205 radios that is in great condition for there age.
It has been tested and I did key the mic and got modulation on the receive just a lot of static I guess because I was inside with a ac plugged into it. Okay on the cosmetic they are in great shape but there is the big black button off of the screw that opens the battery it still open but it's not there. The one that is not working has a loud squeal I thinking something is not grounded but the mic and the push to talk gave a signal and modulated.
Also these radios come with two covers and 2 mics Realistic noise cancelling with preened work on 7 volt batteries. These hand held were very popular in the 70's. Item is sold as is' no return due to part scammers also due to the age of these radio.
They do have manual to fix or restore these radios.
