They also use the same batteries at the CTS 30 CTS 35 and CTS 5000. This is the way I received the radios, however, and I never did anything about it. One of the radios has a few discoloration marks on the housing from when it got hit with some bug spray. They are legacy radios, which mean.

Both of the volume knobs are really easy to turn, which also makes it easy to inadvertently turn off the radio if you are wearing a jacket or other outerwear. The deer must have been the culprit, but the radio works just fine. The volume knobs in newer Ef Johnson portables and my CTS 5000 are a lot stiffer and offer better protection against accidental adjustment. I have no use for these anymore.
